Dr John HF Smith is a highly experienced Consultant Histopathologist and Cytopathologist, specialising in gynaecological histopathology and cervical cytology. He served at the Northern General and Royal Hallamshire Hospitals in Sheffield from 1987 to 2020 and was the lead histopathologist at the Sheffield Gynaecological Cancer Centre. He founded and directed the North of England Pathology and Screening Education Centre and led the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Cervical Cytology Service, overseeing over 100,000 samples annually. A past Vice President of the International Academy of Cytology, he is widely recognised for his contributions to cervical cytology education and practice.
