By sourcing one appropriately qualified expert to deliver a cohesive report, INNEG reduced total expert costs to £3,250, a £5,530 saving.

A solicitor contacted us following receipt of a Letter of Response, seeking assistance with instructing both a Physician and a Vascular Surgeon to address separate but closely linked aspects of the claim. As with many CN cases of this nature, there was a concern that instructing multiple experts could lead to increased disbursement costs and unnecessary overlap in opinion.

Before proceeding with two instructions, we undertook a detailed review of the medical issues and the evidential questions the solicitor needed to answer. Our assessment was that the core issues could be addressed by a single expert with the appropriate specialist background, without narrowing the scope or weakening the evidence.

We therefore sourced a Consultant Physician specialising in Diabetes and Endocrinology who was able to prepare one cohesive report covering both the medical and vascular aspects of the claim. This avoided the need for two separate experts and ensured the evidence was clear, consistent and proportionate.

Had the solicitor proceeded with separate instructions, the combined cost of a Physician and a Vascular Surgeon in this case would have been £8,780. By instructing a single Consultant Physician through INNEG, the total expert cost was £3,250, resulting in a saving of £5,530.

The claim was able to progress efficiently with robust expert evidence, while achieving a meaningful and defensible cost saving.
